Yvonne Grant came to the Washington, DC area from Pittsburgh where she held simultaneous positions at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine as a Secretary in the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh as a medical transcriptionist in the Department of Pediatric Cardiology. Ms. Grant came to the NIH/NCI in the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC) in 1987 and kept a position in medical transcription at the Georgetown University Department of Neurology. She joined the NIH/NCI Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) in 2001. Ms. Grant is a Certified Management Specialist and a certified Project Officer (R&D).

As the Lead Grants Program Analyst for the Behavioral Research Program (BRP), she provides policy, procedure, administrative, technical and portfolio management instruction and guidance through all phases (pre-application through close-out) of the grants process. She is also the Administrative Program Director for the Transdisciplinary Research on Energetics and Cancer (TREC) grants.
