Key Information for Applicants
The following information is also found in the NIH Funding Announcements.
Tip 1: Each application must address one and only one specific Provocative Question (PQ), exactly as defined in the FOA. Applicants who fail to choose a specific PQ from the list, address more than one PQ within a single application, and/or re-write the PQ will have their applications rejected without review as non-responsive.
Tip 2: Since the intention of the FOA is, by definition, to exploit understudied areas, the emphasis is on concepts to be explored with a relaxed requirement for preliminary data.
Tip 3: Application budgets are not limited, but need to reflect the actual needs of the proposed projects.
Tip 4: It is essential that research projects proposed in response to this FOA meet the expectations in terms of exceptional creativity and originality in addressing the selected OQ.
